At the end of 2019, the COVID -19 pandemic started in the city called Wuhan in the middle of China. Some person ate a sick bat and the virus began to spread. In Poland, the first victim of the virus was noted on March 4th 2020. On March 11th the lockdown started in our country. This essay isabout the consequences of the lockdown, specifically about its ups and downs and how it affected me as a person.
At first, we were supposed to stay at home for 2 weeks only. Students called this time a „corona break”. It was super fun at the beginning because simply we had a break from school. But then online school came to town. When it all started, online school was much better than the stationary one but I also heard many teens complain about it. Now I can agree with them. I still think that online education is better but everything has its positive and negative sides.
I would like to start with describing the positive side. I can see how I have matured throughout this pandemic. My taste in music changed. I have developed my hobby and passions. I’m doing better at school. I’m spending more time with my parents and that’s great.
However, there is also a negative side of the lockdown: the routine. I hate it. Every day (besides weekends) I wake up, eat breakfast, wash my teeth, sit down in front of the computer and connect to classes. After the classes, I do my homework. Then I watch movies or TV shows. Every day is the same and I hate it. Another thing is that I can’t see my friends. Cinemas are closed, and that’s a real bummer. But I can’t complain very much because none of my family members died from COVID or lost their job.
Today is March 19th 2021 and it’s been a year since COVID started but my opinion on the pandemic hasn’t changed very much over a year. As I said before, the lockdown has its ups and downs. But in the end, I love this time.
